In Thao Pham’s practice, fiber is not simply a material. It is a way of building atmosphere, emotion and connection by hand. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnamese textile artist behind Soul & Fiber works across weaving, macrame, crochet and hybrid fiber techniques, creating pieces that bring softness, texture and a quiet human presence into contemporary spaces. Since beginning her weaving practice in 2020, she has developed a visual language shaped by colour, structure and the natural movement of thread.

Her work begins with attention. Rather than forcing each piece into a fixed design, Thao allows the material to guide the process. Fibers stretch, fall, knot, loosen and gather in different ways. She observes these small changes and responds to them, letting the final form emerge through touch, patience and adjustment. This intuitive approach gives her work a sense of ease, as if each piece has slowly found its own rhythm.

Texture is central to Thao Pham. A woven surface can hold warmth, tension, density or movement. A knot can become both structure and gesture. A line of thread can shift the mood of a room. Vietnam has a long history of weaving through traditional craft, yet contemporary fiber art remains a developing field.
